River set the kit down in a nest, and glanced up as Maple walked in. "We'll stay here for a while. Darkheart may be up there somewhere."

Maple nodded and looked at the kit. "I could take care of it for you", Maple cought herself by surprise saying that. She quickly added, "untill we find another she-cat to take care of it."

River glanced at her. "Yes, I'd appreciate it. There's a reason I never had kits."She said, handing Ivykit over, who was still fast asleep.

"Of course", Maple replied. She layed down next to the kit and a warmth spread through her where there fur brushed. She wanted to have kits but she wanted to serve river more.

River leaned back against the tunnel wall, her ears pricked for any sounds coming from above ground.

Sirius ran into the tunnel, breathing heavy. "That back there wasn't suppose to happen, I thought they were at the gathering?"

Maple nodded and curled around Ivykit making sure she felt as comfortable as possible so she wouldn't cry when she woke up.
